While you are here

No activity programme - just a short list of things worth arranging, each booked with a day's notice and set up wherever you happen to be sitting.

  • From ₦38,000 per person

    Dinner by the house chef

A set four-course dinner cooked in your cottage and served wherever you point.

Our chef, Bisola, trained in Lagos and cooks the way the market decides. She will send you three or four options the morning of your dinner - grilled croaker with pepper sauce and roast plantain, goat suya with a cucumber salad, a coconut rice and prawns that guests write to us about months later. Dinner is served at the garden table, on your veranda, or on a cloth on the sand, and she cleans up after herself so completely you will wonder whether it happened.

One day's notice. Dietary requirements are genuinely no trouble - tell us when you book.

  • From ₦45,000 per treatment

A treatment in your own room

A therapist from the resort spa comes to you, with the table and the oils.

There is no spa at Haven and there never will be - instead, the therapists from Timeless Beach Resort come down the shore to you. A sixty or ninety minute massage, set up on your veranda or in your bedroom with the shutters half-closed and whatever you want playing. Deep tissue, aromatherapy, or the shea and lemongrass treatment that is the reason most people book a second one before they leave.

Available 9am to 7pm daily. Two therapists can come at once for couples.

  • ₦55,000 per group

    Sundowners and a bonfire

A fire built on the sand, chairs, blankets, drinks and something to grill.

We build the fire at about five so it has settled by the time the sun goes. Six low chairs, a cooler of beer and wine, a bottle of something better if you ask, and a grill for prawns, corn and suya skewers. Someone stays nearby to keep the fire honest and refill things, and disappears entirely if you would rather be left alone - which, for the record, most couples would.

Sunset is between 6:30pm and 7:15pm depending on the month. We will tell you the exact time.

  • ₦25,000 per guest

    The Saturday market run

An early trip to the mainland market with whoever is cooking that day.

Not for everyone, and we say so. You leave at seven with our cook, spend two hours in a loud, crowded, genuinely wonderful market choosing fish and peppers and things you cannot name, and come back with the ingredients for your own dinner - which you can then cook yourself in Baobab's kitchen or hand over entirely. Guests who do this once tend to do it every visit.

Saturdays only. Closed shoes, small bag, and no white clothes.

  • Day beds from ₦120,000

An afternoon at Jet Beach Club

The loud half of the family, fifteen minutes up the beach, when you want it.

Jet Beach Club is our sister property and the opposite of this one - music, a long bar, day beds on the sand and a crowd that arrives at two and stays until dark. It is exactly the right thing on a Saturday afternoon and exactly the wrong thing on a Tuesday morning. We will reserve a bed, arrange the ride both ways, and have a cold jug waiting in your cottage when you get back.

Weekends book out. Ask us the week before, not the day of.

Arrange any of it when you book, or the night before

There is no booking system for these - you tell us, and we do it. Add a note when you reserve your cottage, or say the word to whoever brings your breakfast.
